Your role:

As our In-house Legal Counsel you own the contracts that keep our commercial engine moving. Today this work sits with our founders and slows down deals. You take it over, speed it up and raise the bar on quality, using LEGALFLY itself as your default tool. This is a role for someone commercial, high agency and eager to grow. You will be client-facing: negotiating directly with counterparties and their counsel is part of the job. You will:

• Redline and evaluate all commercial contracts, including MSAs, DPAs and SLAs, and become the go-to owner for getting agreements to signature fast and at high quality.

• Own the security questionnaire process with our security stakeholders, turning a deal bottleneck into a fast, reliable workflow.

• Partner closely with Sales to unblock deals, spotting and removing legal friction before it slows a deal down.
  

Beyond contracts, you will grow into broader ownership as we scale, with internal support and external counsel:

• Corporate & equity: ESOP administration, option grants, board resolutions and corporate housekeeping, supporting future funding rounds.

• Privacy & data protection: Own our GDPR compliance program, including DPAs, records of processing, privacy notices and data subject requests.

• Regulatory compliance: Drive EU AI Act readiness and support security certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2) together with our security team.

• Employment & IP: Employment contracts, IP assignment and confidentiality agreements, and trademark management.

• Procurement: Vendor onboarding, risk assessment and managing our SaaS tool agreements.

• Projects: Take ownership of cross-functional legal projects, from market expansion and new product launches to partnership structures.

• Legal ops: Build our contract playbooks, templates and fallback positions in LEGALFLY itself, and own legal request management so the business always knows where to go and what to expect.
  

You might be a good fit if you:

• Have a legal background and a degree in Law, with some early-career experience in a commercial or contract-focused legal role.

• Bring a commercial mindset: you understand that legal exists to enable deals, not to block them.

• Are AI-native: you already use AI tools in how you work and you have strong opinions on what works and what does not. Experience with LEGALFLY or similar legal AI is a strong plus.

• Have exposure to or genuine interest in procurement and contract negotiation, MSA's, DPA's and SLA's.

• Have a "figure it out" mentality with high agency: you do not wait to be told what to do, you find the answer and ship it.

• Deliver high quality under time pressure and thrive in a fast-growing scale-up where you wear multiple hats.

• Are fluent in Dutch and English.

• Are willing to work from our Ghent office.
